What Else Is Going On While I Write About Food?

Some Updates and Observations:

* Gina misses her boyfriend Arthur, the kids, and her dog Sammy. She keeps trying to pet dogs on the street, but parisians aren´t so free and easy with their dogs affections. The dogs aren´t even that friendly, but they do get to poop wherever they want and no one has to pick up. Walking down the streets is good exercise though, like a neverending game of hopscotch to avoid getting burned by poop. It really improves that all-important hand-to-foot coordination

* Don misses his wife Teresa. It´s really cute, they´ve been married ten years and their Skype number says "D + T Forever". Awwwww! He also keeps looking for places to skateboard and has written and english/french poem called "One Thousand Puddles of Piss". No need to transcribe here, as I´m sure anyone can get the jist from the title. And it´s true, a lot of places in Paris smell less than savory- random streets, under the bridges, the metro stations, outside of bakeries- in far greater concentrations than even in SF with all the homeless.

* Sunny leaves in a couple of days. So it´s Eiffel Tower time soon. Who´s gonna keep Gina in check?

* Rachel sees to have some sort of eating disorder, maybe a combo anorexia/bulimia. She keeps going on these four-mile walk after every tiny meal, and her parents said that they´ll be pissed if she loses any weight on this trip. Jeez. She refuses to eat anything other than scheduled dinners because she´s worried she gained a pound (no, really, she thinks she gained one pound and is freaking out).

* Paul is still slightly creepy. Poor guy. He keeps trolling the stairs hoping to run into people to ask what they´re doing (hence the fact that he´s always on the stairs 24/7), and has gotten into the habit of sitting in the dorm waiting room so that he´ll catch everyone on the way out. But then when he finds out people´s plans he starts complaing. We always come down individually and say we have no plans, and then we meet on the corner. On the bright side, he finally asked for the key. So we think he finally took a shower! Yay!

* Classes are going well, as I mentioned, we all know less than we though we did. So I think Donand and Gina are gonna blow the rest of the week. I´m gonna (try to) go. My final is coming up.

* The Auburn Girls are leaving soon also, and right on time. One of them was yelling at, then flirting with, the guys accross the street and the police was called. This made for a very uncomfortable situation for the nuns. And then someone egged the dorm in the middle of the night. Possibly the american girlfriends of the guys involved.

* Greg might have found love with a certain almost-underage young man in the program. Good for him. But what will become of his dog now that he´s in danger of being replaced?

Yes, I´m back in high school. But it´s all in french. And as for me, I miss everyone. And I am taking a holiday and going to Barcelona at the end of class.
