Eiffel Tower- But Only From the Outside

By the time we exited the metro by the and walked up the Champs de Mars, we only had 15 minutes before the Eiffel Tower closed for visitors.

The plan had been to walk up to the second viewing area, and then take the elevator to the 3rd level. By this time however, the very top was already closed, and we would have had only a few minutes to climb up to the 2nd, take a look and come back down.

It might have been doable, but at that point it would have been more of a let's-get-buns-of-steel activity rather than an active, yet leisurely, visit. And we already get enough glute work climbing up and down the stairs at the nunnery. My buns are as steely as they're gonna get. So we decided to wait until next week and come back sufficiently early to have enough time to enjoy it.

The tower looked amazing (and it's blue to celebrate that France is leading the EU for the next six months), so we decided hang out for a bit. We just took a nice constitutional around the Champs de Mars, which was packed with people having midnight picnics, and avoided the many street vendors selling tiny Eiffel Tower keychains. And after, we headed out for ice cream.
